It's easy to feel eyes watching me, to be distracted by 'who might walk in on me'. In Hawaii, my friends were walking around and so were a handful of housekeepers and groundskeepers. I spend all day mastering songs for my next album. Currently I have seven song (almost) ready to go. They each need a little tweak โ turn down high frequencies of vocals, lower volume of clap, add extra layer to kick sub so it feels fuller. I edit on the computer and then I hop in the car and drive around playing the songs as I fly down the freeway with my hand out the window. Does it make me happy when I drive? Do I hear something that bugs me? I return to the computer to make the updates and I head out again and again until I kiss my finger...

I didn't bring my yoga mat to Hawaii. I just practiced on the hard tiles around the pool. It actually doesn't hurt much because usually it's just hands and feet touching the floor in most yoga poses. It can be uncomfortable when my hip bones touch down or if I stand on my knees. I just use a towel to add some cushion. Moments like this when I am practicing with the bare minimum, no props, just a bikini, no fancy studio, no teacher...it's just me moving my body beneath a big blue sky. Back to basics. Optimum freedom. Heightened focus.

I just left my Hawaii vacation behind on the ๐บ Big Island. I took a two week break from workouts and healthy eating. I let my body lounge around and float in salty water, sleep in and indulge. We drank so many white claws out of wine glasses and called them โDivine Clawsโ LOL โ Late night Mario Party and freshly baked cookies, multiple bowls of caramel popcorn and shrooms on the beach. Day by day, I felt my muscles soften, my belly grow, my mind got a little numb and sleepy.
