Why are we drawn to curves? : The Fibonacci spiral is a geometric shape that emerges from the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the two preceding ones (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc.). When you draw squares whose side lengths correspond to these numbers and connect their corners with arcs, you create the Fibonacci spiral. We are drawn to sphere shapes due to their aesthetic appeal, symmetry, and harmony with nature, as many objects in the natural world exhibit spherical forms. Additionally, spheres have a pleasing balance of v...

Who says a Missouri mom/teacher can’t be cool??? 😎 Streetwear in the American Midwest has its roots in the broader cultural movements of the late 20th century, particularly in cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis. While initially influenced by East and West Coast styles, streetwear in the Midwest developed its own unique characteristics and subcultures. In the 1980s and 1990s, hip-hop culture played a significant role in shaping streetwear aesthetics in the Midwest, with artists like Eminem from Detroit and Kanye West from Chica...

Park benches have been around for centuries, evolving from simple stone or wooden slabs to more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing designs. The concept of providing seating in public spaces dates back to ancient civilizations like the Greeks and Romans, who had stone benches in their forums and public gathering places. 🖤 Just to continue to clarify my obsession with the Addams… I always felt so connected to Morticia, and as I get older I see why… Morticia is known for her striking appearance, characterized by her pale skin, long black hair, tight-fitting black gown, and gothic demeanor. Her personality is typically depicted as elegant, mysterious, and macabre, with a dry wit and a penchant for the darker aspects of life. Despite her eerie appearance and interests, Morticia is portrayed as a loving and devoted wife and mother. She often serves as the ...

"The Addams Family" has always been one of my favorite movies (and families!) It began as a single-panel cartoon created by Charles Addams, which first appeared in The New Yorker magazine in 1938. The quirky and macabre family gained popularity over the years, leading to various adaptations, including a TV series in the 1960s, animated series, and several movies. The first major motion picture adaptation (and MY favorite version of the Addams) simply titled "The Addams Family," was released in 1991, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Anj...

The tradition of gifting flowers dates back thousands of years, with evidence from ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans exchanging flowers for various occasions, including religious ceremonies, festivals, and expressions of love and affection. In the Victorian era, flowers became a means of communication, with each flower carrying its own symbolic meaning, allowing people to convey messages through floral arrangements known as "tussie-mussies." Today, gifting flowers remains a popular gesture for celebrations, expression...

Did you know in America, Valentine’s Day is the busiest day of the year for restaurants? Kansas City!!!! For me, Kansas City is IN my soul, and I honestly feel anyone would love to experience its richness and genuine feel. I’ve learned most people don’t know the city is actually in both Kansas and MISSOURI- And I mean 50/50 (and if we’re being real, you know the best parts of the city are on the Missouri side, including Arrowhead stadium where the Chiefs play!) KC holds a massive place in my heart; it’s my favorite city for many reasons. I moved around the Midwest a lot as a kid, all over small towns, but Kansas City wa...
