My new friend got arrested. 🙀

I was wondering why I couldn’t find her yesterday by Wells Fargo or Home Depot in Davie and why she wasn’t returning my texts cuz I had some more work for her. 🫠

I really wanted to help get her off the streets before she got swept by the Police. She wanted to make enough to get a camper van so she didn’t have to sleep on the sidewalk anymore.

The new, strict anti-homeless law came into effect on October 1st.

It’s really weird because in all the articles I read the police said they don’t like it, that they won’t go for arresting right away and that it’s a last resort. She and 7+ people got arrested October 2nd. So… they’re lying in the news article? Or did they get taken to get help? All the homeless shelters in the area are full. Maybe Broward police are nicer than Davie police? Idk. All counties are different.

When I got to Home Depot. I noticed the sidewalk was all clear and the doggg was missing. One guy escaped arrest and I asked if he knew what happened to Lola. That’s when he said the police took everybody yesterday. He was able to avoid arrest because he was just coming “home” from work but he saw it all happen. Wish I could post the interview with other people here like this is Facebook.

I should probably find someone to put all my stuff on YouTube. I gave him all the food I had for Lola. He doesn’t know which police station she’s at. I’m contemplating looking for her tomorrow but I gotta knock out work and homework first.

I took some time to sit on this information. Part of me is glad she’s getting 3 square meals a day, shower access and a bed… but they threw away all her stuff or took it in as evidence and I hope the doggg is going to a safe shelter. I can’t imagine how that experience must have been like.

I wish I knew what happened to her. My biggest concern is if they deport her back to Puerto Rico.

Im gonna work out a little to clear my mind and then focus on the customs. I definitely can’t afford bail for her or taking her in (I don’t own my home, otherwise I would) I hope it wakes her up to have some more routine or resources. Hoping for the best. If any of my followers that are cops could enlighten me on what happens to unhoused people, I would appreciate it.

She LITERALLY texted me to work before getting arrested for being homeless ! I couldn’t find her Tuesday or Wednesday and just thought she was busy. I hope they just took her to a new unannounced homeless shelter or something. Remaining hopeful that she just gets all the resources and time off the streets she needs. Worst case scenario she gets deported back to Puerto Rico and I wonder if there’s any chance she would be better off back in Puerto Rico. I don’t have any idea what life is like in Puerto Rico.
